Alphabet Walk - G

I sure needed this sign earlier!! Man, my blood pressure had to be up. I was flaming mad. I shouldn\"t let things get to me, but sometimes... ugh. I sure hate it when people are not nice to one of my kids. The very word "christian" refers to someone that is "like Christ". I think people forget that way too often. I know I forget that sometimes too, even in this particular case. I\"m supposed to just turn the other cheek. The problem with that is that I only have 2 cheeks, and this is a recurring problem! Oh well... enough said. Moving on...

As I was preparing to go outside and take "G" pictures, I had a very pleasant surprise. My friend Melissa came to walk with me. It was terrific. Those 2 1/2 miles just flew by in no time. It didn\"t even seem like exercise at all. I am so thankful for her. I needed that tonight.

So, today, G is for girlfriend. I am so very thankful for my real, true friends that are always there for me. Here we are after our walk:

We are a little worse for wear, but I know we both felt better after a nice walk, and a little heart to heart talk. Love ya girl!

This was day 9, in a row, that I walked at least a mile. Today we walked 2 1/2 miles. I am amazed at myself. Truly. Looking forward to day 10, "H" day tomorrow... and I plan to be Happy :)

Alphabet Walk - F

"F Day"...

You know the movie Frozen? (Duh, doesn't everybody?). Well, I was feeling pretty frozen while out on my walk. Yikes!! And guess what just happened to be playing on my ipod when I began my walk in the frigid air?  Yep. "Let It Go". Well, I let it go alright. I walked super fast today! Brrr!

That could explain why almost all my pictures today are blurry. I was either moving fast, shaking, or both. Haha! And just as I was finding out there are all sorts of F things out there, my phone died. Bummer! I missed getting a picture of a fern, a Ford and a feather. Oh well. I guess I'll survive.

Here are my F things:

(Bonus!) Flag & Flag Pole

 Fence

Triple Play! Field, Fence & Fence Post

Flower Bed (This is for you, Sheree)

For Sale

 Flowers

 Squirrel Feeder (no food!)

Fountain (no water!)

 Fire Hydrant

Some kind of Fir Tree... Douglas, maybe?

On the plus side, my body didn't hurt today, and it wasn't hard physically to make myself go walking.  Yay! Maybe this is becoming a habit after all...

Tomorrow is G... can't wait!

Alphabet Walk - E

E Day... Day 7:

For something that has been so enjoyable, today was a killer.  Absolutely exhausting.  (Get it? Exhausting?) My legs hurt. My back hurt. My feet hurt. And it rained on me. Waaahhh!!! (I'm crying... can't you hear me?!)

But, onward and upward.  Let me tell you, E was a hard one to locate. Super hard! However, even through the rain, I persevered and found some Es:

Extension Ladder

Electric Lines

Evergreen Tree

Eave

Edge (This is very easy to fall off of... trust me, I know this.)

I'm not sure exactly what this is, but it has an E on it (Lol. Desperate times call for desperate measures)

Half of an Eggshell

Entry

I know these aren't really what they are called, but my Daddy always said these were "Porcupine Eggs"

Elephant Ears (thank you, Karla)

A friend of mine named Edward lives here

...

And last but not least... Eeyore!! (He is a donkey, after all, and I did make him bluish purple...)

Happy Day 7... E Day.  Thank the good Lord that the wind was much more pleasant today.  Here's hoping that tomorrow is a much more pleasant walk.  I need to keep my motivation and spirits up. I really, really want to make exercise a true habit, that I just do without having to force myself!!

Alphabet Walk - D

When I woke up this morning, I truly thought Day 6, "D" day, would stand for: Downpour. Dreary. Drizzle. Disappointment.  I thought I was not going to get to walk today.  I was so bummed.

But, as the afternoon came, the day became really nice.  But windy. Man... so much wind.  Now, don\"t get me wrong.  When it is blazing hot outside, I know we all pray for a gust of wind to come and cool us off. But I\"m telling you right now.  Never, in the history of the world, ever has anyone wished for the wind to blow so hard that it throws your groceries out of your basket, on to the ground, breaking your eggs, smashing your chips and tossing your paper towels into a nearby puddle. Ugh. I. Hate. This. Wind.

And that almost made me not go walking. Almost. But, before I got home from Walmart, I decided to run by the park and just see if maybe it was a little less windy there because it is in a low area, and there are a lot of trees. When I got there, I found scores of people. Laughing, walking, playing frisbee golf, feeding the ducks... and I knew right then that I was going walking. If they can get out in this brutal wind and enjoy it, then I would too! D is for determined!!

So today, D is for:

Direction

Digging (excited to see what they are adding to the waterpark!)

Daisies

Dr. Pepper

Driveway

 Drainage Ditch

Disc Golf (I am dying to go play!!)

Ducks...so cute!

 Dugout

Down Spout

Damage (poor people)

Drain

Danger! (huge limb, just chilling in the tree. Yikes!)

Dumpster

Dirt (you didn\"t think I could do D without dirt did you?)

And... just especially for my friend, Kelly Roberts.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Doggie Doo Doo :)

I didn\"t see one dog at the park or on my walk today, but here this was, just waiting for me to take a picture for my friend. Glad I could help you out Kelly!

So, tomorrow is letter E... what in the world am I going to find that starts with E? Elephant? Eeyore?Eel? Pretty sure I\"m not finding any of these in my neighborhood!!

Alphabet Walk - C

C is for... (well, cookie obviously)

Today, Day 5 was my "C" day.  Oh my gosh. C is for committed today. That wind is just brutal. I only managed to walk for 45 minutes today, instead of my normal hour, but by the time I got home, I felt absolutely beat up.  If those storms coming in are as brutal, then we are in for it.

Even though the wind was a killer, I did manage to get some C pictures. And although I saw tons of cars, and even a Chevy, I didn't take any pictures of them.  I figured you could see a Chevy any ole day.

So, today, C is for...

Cat

Cushing Tigers

Clouds (How can they look so nice now, and then so menacing later?)

Clothes Hamper (in my own yard. Ugh)

Christmas Lights (thankfully, these are not on my house anymore. Lol)

Cul de sac

Cedars (allergy alert!)

Cracks

Curb and Curb Marker (Okay, I might have made that second part up... not sure what you'd call it)

Two for Two:  Cappucino Cup

Double! Chimney and Chimney Cap/Cover

Carriage Lamp

Cactus (Cacti?)

Caution Sign

Bonus:  Coffee Can

Camper

Circle Drive

Cotton (No cotton plants in sight... weird)

Chow Chow :)

Concrete/Cement (It has to be one of those two)

Cover

Culvert

Chain Link Fence

And... as usual, I've saved the best for last.  Stop here if you don't want to see this one ...................... ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Crap. Bird crap.

That pretty much sums up how I felt after battling the wind.  Onward and upward though... tomorrow is D day.  Just one more reason to go see those super cute donkeys again!!!
